Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides in Rainford, St Helens

Polynucleotides are one of the most talked-about skin treatments in the UK, and for good reason. Rather than filling or freezing, they work on the health of the skin itself, supporting repair, hydration and elasticity. They are a popular choice for tired under-eyes, crepey skin on the neck and chest, and anyone who wants skin that simply looks healthier.

At Hannah Clarke Advanced Skin and Beauty in Rainford, polynucleotides are available as a single session or as a course of three, one session a month, and your first session starts with a consultation.

What Are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotide treatment is an advanced regenerative injectable that stimulates tissue repair, improves skin quality, and enhances hydration and elasticity. Polynucleotides are highly purified chains of DNA fragments, usually derived from fish. Once placed in the skin, they support the cells that keep skin firm and healthy and help create a better environment for repair.

The result is skin that looks healthier, firmer and more radiant, with natural-looking results. Polynucleotides do not add volume and do not change your features, so nobody will be able to tell you have had anything done, only that your skin looks well.

Areas We Treat

Under the eyesThe skin here is very thin. Polynucleotides are a popular choice for crepey texture, fine lines and a tired look under the eyes.
FaceFor overall skin quality, dullness, fine lines and uneven texture across the face.
NeckFor crepey skin and fine lines on the neck, which often shows age before the face.
DécolletageFor sun-damaged, crepey skin on the chest.

Who Are Polynucleotides For?

  • Anyone with tired, thin or crepey skin under the eyes
  • Skin that looks dull or has lost its bounce
  • Early signs of ageing on the neck and décolletage
  • Clients who want natural results without volume or muscle relaxing
  • Skin that needs support alongside treatments such as microneedling

Polynucleotides are not suitable if you have a fish or seafood allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection in the area. We check your full medical history at your consultation before going ahead.

Your Treatment, Step by Step

  1. Consultation. We look at your skin, talk about your goals and medical history, and agree the area to treat and the number of sessions.
  2. Preparation. Your skin is cleansed and prepared. Numbing cream can be used for comfort.
  3. Treatment. The product is placed into the skin with fine injections or a cannula. The treatment itself is quick.
  4. Afterwards. Small bumps at the injection points are normal and usually settle within a day or two.

Results and How Many Sessions

Polynucleotides work with your skin's own repair processes, so results build gradually. Most people need a course to see the full benefit, which is why we offer a course of three sessions, one a month, at a lower price than three single sessions. Improvements in hydration, texture and firmness continue to develop in the weeks after the course, and a maintenance session can help keep results going.

Mild swelling, redness, tenderness or small bruises are possible and usually settle within a few days. Avoid make-up on the area for the rest of the day, and avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours.

Polynucleotides, Skin Boosters or Microneedling?

Polynucleotides are often compared with Profhilo and skin boosters. Skin boosters focus on hydration, while polynucleotides focus on repair and regeneration, and the two can work well together. Microneedling is a good partner treatment for texture and scarring. If your main concern is hollowness under the eyes rather than skin quality, tear trough filler may be more suitable. We will advise you honestly at your consultation.

Polynucleotides: The Questions Everyone Asks

What are polynucleotides made from?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments, usually derived from fish. This is why they are not suitable for anyone with a fish or seafood allergy.

How many sessions do I need?

Most people get the best result from a course. We offer a course of three sessions, one session a month, as well as single sessions for maintenance.

Are polynucleotides good for under the eyes?

Yes, under the eyes is one of the most popular areas. They help with crepey texture, fine lines and a tired look. They will not fill a deep hollow, so we may suggest a different treatment if that is your main concern.

Is there downtime?

Very little. Small bumps at the injection points usually go within a day or two, and any redness or bruising normally settles within a few days.

When will I see results?

Results build gradually over the course as your skin responds, with continued improvement in the weeks after your final session.
