Fat Dissolving Injections

Aqualyx is an injectable solution designed to break down fat cells in localised areas. It is injected directly into the stubborn fat deposit, where it breaks down the fat cell walls. Your body then clears the released fat naturally through its lymphatic system over the following weeks.

Because the treated fat cells are broken down, results in the treated area are long lasting as long as your weight stays stable. Aqualyx is not a weight loss treatment. It works best for people who are already close to their ideal weight and want to refine specific areas.

Aqualyx is best for small, stubborn pockets of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise. You are likely to be a good candidate if:

• You are at or close to a healthy weight for your height
• Your weight has been stable for a while
• You can pinch the area of fat you want to treat
• You want gradual, natural-looking contouring rather than surgery

It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, have diabetes that is not well controlled, have a liver or kidney condition, or have an infection in the area. It does not treat loose skin or cellulite. We will go through your medical history in full and be honest if another approach would suit you better.

Results build gradually as your body clears the treated fat, usually over several weeks. Most areas need more than one session, spaced a few weeks apart, and the number depends on the size of the area and how much fat there is to treat. We will give you a realistic plan at your consultation.

Swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising in the treated area are normal for the first few days, and the swelling can last a little longer, especially under the chin. Drink plenty of water, keep active with gentle walking, and avoid heavy exercise, saunas and alcohol for the first couple of days.
